Chaplain Don Williamson (right)
is married to Sue and they have four daughters. He is on his
second tour to the Mid-East. His first deployment before
becoming an Army Chaplain was to Iraq, where Don as a Captain in
the Army was involved with mines and explosive ordnance. He has
numerous medals and badges including those for: Combat Action,
Parachutist and Air Assault. The photo shows Don at forward
operating post near Asadabad, Afghanistan with SGT Vaughn who
has just received a Prayer Reminder Coin. SGT Vaughn is a
reservist from Indiana who interrupted work on his PhD in
Archeology to serve. Don has a background in Young Life and has
found that experience extremely helpful in reaching troops for
Christ. Check out his blog at http://chaplaindon.blogspot.com.
Don’s mission statement is, “Bring Courage to the Courageous,”
which is from Joshua 1:9, which also appears on our Prayer
Reminder Coin.
Please remember to pray for Don, his family and all Chaplains
serving in these difficult times.
